The Inequality Process Institute

The Institute's Program

The Inequality Process is a mathematical model that mimics the dynamics of individuals' wealth and income at the micro level and the distributions of wealth and income at the macro level. The Inequality Process is a stochastic interacting particle system, similar in some respects to that of the kinetic theory of gases. The Inequality Process is a statistical law like those in the natural sciences.

Susan Rinaldi [ srinaldi1@comcast.net ] designed the Inequality Process Institute's logo. The photos on this website were taken by John Angle. The photos are of the Wissahickon Valley Park, a beautiful, wooded gorge near the Institute. The Wissahickon Valley Park is part of the Fairmount Park System of the City of Philadelphia. The Fairmount Park Commission selected the above photo as the May photo on its 2010 Calendar.
